IMP Media Taster. Free music for you, our friends.

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

New Music Tuesdays can be stressful. Right? What if we told you there was a simple widget available that would make music recommendations for you?

Well, it’s true. We’ve been working with InRadio for the past few weeks on a compact version of their imp (Intelligent Media Platform) player. Both players allow you to sample free music and videos using BitTorrent technology, but the Media Taster (seen below) can plug right into your site.

You’re going to start seeing the taster popping up on sites across the Internet (there’s a smaller version available for sidebars as well.) Just remember you saw it here first.

Update: Our friend Garrick has an interview with Dan Carroll of imp at FirstCrackPodCast.

Some of you may be familiar with our previous, nubby tired, company vehicle, the Pulp Truck. We bought the vehicle for travel convenience and then stickered it up to let the world know when we were near.

But then we started hearing about this global warming thing. Maybe the world was aware of us for reasons other than our stickers and vanity plates? Maybe the planet knew us more by our emissions?

That left a bad taste in our mouths (perhaps it was actually a foul smell in the air?) Anyway, last week we heard Al Gore speak. And if nothing else, we can tell you that he has a promising career in car sales if his documentary efforts don’t take off. Shortly after hearing him speak, we went out and bought a 60mpg, low emission hybrid. (Okay, we were going to do it any way, but that doesn’t mean Gore couldn’t sell cars.)

So, if you start seeing a little red Prius speeding around the area with PULP license plates, don’t worry. No Touaregs were hurt in the transition. And if we ever cut you off, weaving in and out of traffic, we’re sorry. The last electric car we had was a TYCO race car - we’re still adjusting.

flav.jpgRap superstar Flavor Flav recently canceled his Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Why? Insufficient ticket sales.

Enter Electric Pulp.

In an effort to keep the Oak Ridge Boys and the Goo Goo Dolls from following a similar fate, the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center website was redesigned, redeveloped, remade.

The new site is easier to use, tickets are easier to buy, and the graphics are just plain easier on the eyes.

Check it out. And never miss a bull fight again.

For those of you wondering, Mitch and Brienne are not forming letters with their poses.
